Remember, you heard it here first! Some very reliable sources have told me that Ted Haggard, the disgraced former head pastor of New Life Church, will be starting a new church in Colorado Springs this summer.
I'll post details as they become available.

Not surprising. Though Haggard might surprise. He was stung pretty deep by the powers that be in the Evangelical community, who for the most part turned tail and ran during his time of need. Haggard got a real solid glimpse of what so many have been saying for so long - they're selfish fair weather friends who only lend a hand when it benefits them. And Haggard has been preaching about that as of late. He has a new view. Whether or not it lasts is another matter.

Zen,
while I appreciate your willingness to believe people can change, and I generally share your view, in this case, I can only see him as an actor. Everything he does will be seen as charlatanesque from now on.

Of course, you feed the monster you hate so much.
Ironic. Stupidly ironic.

Sounds like someone needs a hug.

Sue - I do agree its much too early for this to be taking place, that's for sure. But being one who was a minister, I also understand that once you're out, it's damn near impossible to find much meaning anywhere else. Which is why I think he's back. It's all he knows or desires to do.

I think Ted has a near pathological need to be in the spotlight. If he could host a show on Fox "News" that would fill the void he's feeling just fine. He's, even now, not acting like a humble servant of God. He could move out of his $700,000 house and do social work if he was serious about being dedicated. I think that along with his rise he, and his wife, lost the ability to be normal, honest folks.

Could be. It's easy to get addicted to the attention fame brings. Time will tell.

John,
I agree with all of your comments about Mr. Haggard's need for attention, except you don't seem to realize that us conservatives think he's a schmuck as well and have no desire to see this guy on our beloved FNC.

Not at all Corey; I understand that completely.
